8 Months

Can he possibly be 8 months old!? Well he is. The little monster turned 8 months old this past weekend. He is getting so big. He has started to pull himself up on stuff so we had to lower his bed. He still has not gotten up on his hands and knees to crawl but he gets around very well low crawling. Teeth 5 and 6 are on the way. You can see them under the his gums but they have not broke through yet. So needless to say he has been clingy and fussy. I did weigh him the other day at the clinic and he weighted 17 lbs 8 oz. Not sure how long he is since I have not gotten out the tape measure. We also joined a baby gym called Gymboree Play and Music so the little man gets some socialization with other babies.
Larry has been gone mountain climbing for the last month and he still has about three more weeks of it. He usually comes home on the weekends so we get to see him for a couple days. This next weekend he has a 4 day so that will be nice. His parents are also coming up that weekend. We plan on getting a few things done around the house before it gets cold and Larry leaves again. He will be gone for most of October. Amanda is coming to visit in the middle of Sept. so that will be fun. She will be here for a few days while Larry is gone and then a few when he gets back. Needless to say we are going to have a busy Sept with lots of visitors and projects. So there will be lots of pictures to come but for now I will leave you with some from the last month.

6-7 Months

Not much has really been happening since I last wrote but I told you all I would let you know how little man's 6 month appointment went. He weighted in at 16lbs 9oz and was 27.25 inches long. He is now eating baby food 4 times a day. He gets oatmeal in the morning with fruit mixed in (it is the only way he will eat it) then he has veggies for lunch and meat and veggies for dinner and lastly he has cereal before bed with fruit mix in, of course. As of right now he has 3.5 teeth. He is cutting the second top tooth as I write. He has turned into a crawling machine. I am constantly chasing him around the house. He enjoys chasing the cats but they are not to fond of that. I think it's about time they learn to take the high road. I also discovered that he is a little bully!! I was babysitting a friend's kids the other day and Connor keep stealing all the toys. He would also pull the little one's hair and dress. He obviously needs to be more socialized and learn to share. We did make it to the zoo the other day which was fun and tiring since the zoo here is on the side of a mountain. He got a new stuffed monkey, which seems to be his favorite animal right now. Well that is about it for now so I will leave you with a few new pictures.

Summer So Far

The summer has just been flying by and we have been up to many things. Most recently my grandma and grandpa came for a visit. They had gone up to South Dakota for vacation and on their way back home they stopped here. They stayed for about 4 days. I believe they had a good time. They enjoyed playing with the little guy. They absolutely loved how he growls and grunts. Grandma bought him a couple of new outfits and new toys and grandpa bought him bongo drums. The bongo drums also turn into a rolling toy. He seems to really like the new toy either way. Also while they were here there was a family day going on out at group so we went out there to see Larry. There were different both set up and then there was different military equipment you could look at and play with.

Over the 4th of July we went to New York to visit Larry's dad's side of the family. That will have been the third time Larry and I have gone up there but it was Connor's first visit. It was also Connor's visit trip on a plane and he did great. Connor got to go on his first boat ride while we where there. He also got to try all kinds of new food since everyone keep giving him it. There were a few days that were crappy because it rained all day and we were copped up at camp. One of those days Diane, Aubrey, Ashley, Connor and I drove to Lake Placid. It was a neat little town. The rest of the days were pretty nice. The humidity on the other hand was terrible. How people live with humidity I will never understand. Larry was able to get scub certified while we were up there too. He got to go on a few dives with uncle John, uncle John's friend and his dad. We had a good time while there but it is always nice to come home.

Also a couple of weekend ago we went to the Renaissance Festival. I unfortunately did not take any pictures. I tried to find a funny hat to put on Connor to take a picture but they were all to big. Well that pretty much wraps up our summer so far. Connor does have his 6 month check up this week even though he will be almost 7 months. His doctor has been on vacation so this was the soonest we could see her. I will update you all as soon as his appointment is over.

Circus

This past weekend we took Connor to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. He slept through most of it but Larry and I had a good time. I can't remember the last time I had been to a circus. Also at this age it is cheap because he doesn't ask for all the silly crap they sell at these things. Well here are a few photos from the circus.

5 Months and More

So the little man is growing up so fast, at least that's what his grandmas say. He has started to eat baby food not just baby cereal. His very first flavor was sweet potatoes. He seems to like to eat because if you don't feed him fast enough he makes noises at you and flings his arms around and when you stop he does the same. His first tooth is starting to come in. It is the bottom right tooth. Larry has been doing a lot of mountain training. He was gone for 3 weeks so one of the weeks Connor and I went up to South Dakota to visit. We got to see lots of family and friends I haven't seen in many years. We also went to Kristy's HS graduation. The drive back was terrible we ran into rain, hail, snow, fog, and 60 mph wind. Needless to say I was a little freaked!!! This past weekend Connor hung out in his swing in the backyard while I planted flowers and he went in his pool for the very first time. He also went to his first Rockies baseball game. We decide to treat ourselves to a baseball game for our anniversary which was this past Thursday. Well that is about it so I will leave you now with some photos from the past month.

4 Months and Trip to Phoenix

The little man had his 4 month check-up about 2 weeks ago. He was 14 lbs. 7 oz. and was 25.25 inches long. He is getting SO big. The doctor said we could try giving him some baby cereal which we did. He doesn't seem to mind it but I don't think it makes him sleep any longer than he normally does. She also said he needs more tummy time because he should be rolling over and he hadn't yet until this past Saturday but now we can't get him to do it again. He spends more time awake now than sleeping so its fun getting to play with him. He does some of the silliest things. He is very alert and likes things that make noise now. I was tapping his crib with my fingers this morning and he was just staring at them. He is starting to teeth so he gets a little fussy at times but so far not to bad. He likes to chew on his blanks, toys, teething toys, and yes even fingers.

We took him on his very first road trip to Phoenix at the end of April. He did very well in the car. He slept most of the time. I took him out to feed him and play a little while we where stopped to get gas. He got to meet lots of relatives that he had not met yet. Let's see he met Uncle John (who was also in Phoenix on vacation), aunt Amanda and uncle Bryan (who he helped move into their new apartment) uncle Caleb, aunt Kendra, and cousin Janessa (he got to see cousin Nessa play tee ball) great grandpa Hacker and Helena, Rick and Michelle Hall, uncle David and Tabby (they all came over for a BBQ), aunt Rhonda and uncle David, great grandma Leann and great grandpa Larry, cousin Ike and Tiffany, Bill and Peggy and Junior (he got to see most of these relatives several times since while we where there we attended 2 baby showers, a going away party, and a birthday party for 2 people). He was very sociable, everybody got to hold him several times. He wasn't so sure about great grandma Leann at first but he warmed up to her.

Grandma Diane and aunt Aubrey took Connor to his very first major league baseball game (mommy of course tagged along). The DiamondBacks where playing the Phillies. It was a nice night for a baseball game, they had the roof of the ball diamond open. Grandma was so proud to show him off to all the ladies around her that usually bring their grandkids.

While we where there we also went to the Phoenix Zoo which was his first time at a zoo. He didn't do to bad. He fell asleep a couple of times while we where walking around but I think he had a pretty good time. Opa, Meme, grandma Diane, great grandma Leann, and great grandpa Larry came with. We went when the zoo opened in the morning and where there till noon so it didn't get to hot.
