Circus

This past weekend we took Connor to the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. He slept through most of it but Larry and I had a good time. I can't remember the last time I had been to a circus. Also at this age it is cheap because he doesn't ask for all the silly crap they sell at these things. Well here are a few photos from the circus.

5 Months and More

So the little man is growing up so fast, at least that's what his grandmas say. He has started to eat baby food not just baby cereal. His very first flavor was sweet potatoes. He seems to like to eat because if you don't feed him fast enough he makes noises at you and flings his arms around and when you stop he does the same. His first tooth is starting to come in. It is the bottom right tooth. Larry has been doing a lot of mountain training. He was gone for 3 weeks so one of the weeks Connor and I went up to South Dakota to visit. We got to see lots of family and friends I haven't seen in many years. We also went to Kristy's HS graduation. The drive back was terrible we ran into rain, hail, snow, fog, and 60 mph wind. Needless to say I was a little freaked!!! This past weekend Connor hung out in his swing in the backyard while I planted flowers and he went in his pool for the very first time. He also went to his first Rockies baseball game. We decide to treat ourselves to a baseball game for our anniversary which was this past Thursday. Well that is about it so I will leave you now with some photos from the past month.

4 Months and Trip to Phoenix

The little man had his 4 month check-up about 2 weeks ago. He was 14 lbs. 7 oz. and was 25.25 inches long. He is getting SO big. The doctor said we could try giving him some baby cereal which we did. He doesn't seem to mind it but I don't think it makes him sleep any longer than he normally does. She also said he needs more tummy time because he should be rolling over and he hadn't yet until this past Saturday but now we can't get him to do it again. He spends more time awake now than sleeping so its fun getting to play with him. He does some of the silliest things. He is very alert and likes things that make noise now. I was tapping his crib with my fingers this morning and he was just staring at them. He is starting to teeth so he gets a little fussy at times but so far not to bad. He likes to chew on his blanks, toys, teething toys, and yes even fingers.

We took him on his very first road trip to Phoenix at the end of April. He did very well in the car. He slept most of the time. I took him out to feed him and play a little while we where stopped to get gas. He got to meet lots of relatives that he had not met yet. Let's see he met Uncle John (who was also in Phoenix on vacation), aunt Amanda and uncle Bryan (who he helped move into their new apartment) uncle Caleb, aunt Kendra, and cousin Janessa (he got to see cousin Nessa play tee ball) great grandpa Hacker and Helena, Rick and Michelle Hall, uncle David and Tabby (they all came over for a BBQ), aunt Rhonda and uncle David, great grandma Leann and great grandpa Larry, cousin Ike and Tiffany, Bill and Peggy and Junior (he got to see most of these relatives several times since while we where there we attended 2 baby showers, a going away party, and a birthday party for 2 people). He was very sociable, everybody got to hold him several times. He wasn't so sure about great grandma Leann at first but he warmed up to her.

Grandma Diane and aunt Aubrey took Connor to his very first major league baseball game (mommy of course tagged along). The DiamondBacks where playing the Phillies. It was a nice night for a baseball game, they had the roof of the ball diamond open. Grandma was so proud to show him off to all the ladies around her that usually bring their grandkids.

While we where there we also went to the Phoenix Zoo which was his first time at a zoo. He didn't do to bad. He fell asleep a couple of times while we where walking around but I think he had a pretty good time. Opa, Meme, grandma Diane, great grandma Leann, and great grandpa Larry came with. We went when the zoo opened in the morning and where there till noon so it didn't get to hot.

3 Months plus More

Another month has gone by and our little man is growing like a weed. And do I mean like a weed, hard to believe but he is wearing 6-9 month onesies (he has a long torso). His pants are still 3-6 months though. He has lost all of his jaundice because he is now as white as Larry and I. It was pretty funny...the other day Larry came in and asked if he was ok because he was white. He is pretty attached to me and it drives Larry crazy sometime but I spend all day with the little guy so I can see how he is more attached to me. We have started to put him in his crib in his room at night but he doesn't usually stay in there the whole night. He still wakes up several times a night to eat so sometimes it is just easier to put him back in his bassinet. I love to just sit and watch all his funny facial expressions. He has gotten his own little personality in the last month which is great. Watching him grow and change are the highlights of my days.

Grandpa Larry came to visit a couple weekends ago which was great. He got to spend time with the little man and he even helped Larry build me flower boxes.

We have been busy working on the backyard. I decided one day while I was sitting out there that I really disliked the yard. We have been getting rid of all the horribly ugly concrete chunks that make up the retaining wall in the yard. We made a new wall out of landscaping timbers and I am turning it into a raised garden area. We just have to hope the dogs don't jump into it to often. Calloway has been pretty good about going around it so far and Maggie just doesn't seem to care. I also put paver stones under the dinning room window where there was just dirt so that I could put planters there. It is all coming together and I can't wait till it is done!

Connor's first Easter was this past weekend. He got his very first Easter basket. It had a few new onesies, the Toy Story DVD, and candy for mom and dad in it.
